Terms of Service

By accessing or using OpenPasture ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a ranch or agricultural operation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

OpenPasture is a livestock recordkeeping service offered on paid plans, each beginning with a 14-day free trial. Any product examples or demonstrations on our marketing pages may be illustrative and may not reflect a customer's own records. Features, availability and limits are those described on the pricing page for the plan you are on.

OpenPasture is intended to support workflow exploration and recordkeeping research; it does not ensure regulatory compliance. Users remain responsible for verifying records and decisions with applicable requirements and qualified professionals.

All livestock records, animal data, premises information, and operational data you enter into OpenPasture ("Farm Data") belongs to you. OpenPasture claims no ownership over your Farm Data.

We will never sell, rent, or license your Farm Data to third parties.

We use your Farm Data only to provide the Service to you.

You may export individual animal records in the app; account-wide export is not yet available. Export is never withheld because a trial has ended or a subscription has lapsed. You may request a copy or deletion of your Farm Data at howdy@openpasture.ai.

We retain account and Farm Data while your account is active. After cancellation or account closure, you have a 30-day window to request an export or reactivate your account. After that window, or after a verified deletion request, we delete or de-identify Farm Data from active production systems within 30 days. Encrypted residual copies may remain in disaster-recovery backups and are removed through normal backup rotation within 90 additional days. We may retain limited information when required or permitted for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution, or regulatory purposes.

Every new account begins with a 14-day free trial of the full service. No payment information is collected to start the trial and nothing is charged during it. At the end of the trial, an account with no subscription becomes read-only: your Farm Data remains readable and exportable, and no records are deleted or hidden.

Paid plans and their prices are published at openpasture.ai/pricing. Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe; OpenPasture does not receive or store your card number. You may cancel at any time from your billing page and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. A founding-member rate offered to the first 75 paid operations remains in force for as long as that subscription stays active, including through any later change to standard prices. Changes to standard prices will be published here with at least 30 days' notice before they apply to an existing subscription.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
• Reverse engineer or copy the Service
• Upload data you do not have the right to submit

OpenPasture may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to other users, the Service, or OpenPasture.

We will provide 30 days written notice before terminating an account, except where immediate termination is necessary to prevent harm or comply with legal requirements.

Export and deletion after termination are handled as described in section 4.

In the event of a confirmed data breach affecting your Farm Data, OpenPasture will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach by email to the address on your account.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before making material changes to these Terms.

OpenPasture answers questions and files records over text message. Linking a mobile number is optional, is done from the handset itself, and is never a condition of buying anything from us.

Message frequency varies with your use of the Service. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time, START to resume, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

A text is a convenience, not a contract: nothing that commits money or an animal — accepting an offer, countering one, changing a price, recording a sale — happens by text alone. Those actions are taken on a screen that shows you the terms. The program is described in full in our Text Messaging Program disclosure.
